We elaborate here on how (and perhaps why) we think research could be done differently, see e.g. our first INTP meta-workshop in 2024.

Examples of exploratory sessions

To start with, here are some ideas that we wish to implement as part of special sessions in current and future residencies.

Science jam: 24h or more of jointly exploring a topic on which no participant has worked before

Zero-knowledge seminar: Guiding participants from basic knowledge to being able to understand the stakes of a particular research topic

Research mapping: Working to map out a broader field of knowledge, deconstruct its principles and questions

Research debugging: Going through one researcher's difficulties, within or outside of one's own field

Participatory research: Short research project involving non-professional researchers e.g. local citizens

Individual and collective creativity training: Figuring out how to stimulate the kind of creativity that is useful for research, by drawing inspiration from other traditions (art, engineering, popular education) while also learning to discern approaches that are not relevant to the activities (or people) we generally encounter.

Seminars on negative results, enigmas and speculative ideas
