A 3- to 5-day retreat where participants (researchers or doctoral students) make progress on their own research, while sharing daily scientific discussion times, both indoors and during mountain walks.

Discussions will especially aim to address challenges and roadblocks in one's current work, brainstorm ways to overcome them, drawing on insights from a group of colleagues with a common background.

We hope that the retreat may also foster new collaborations between researchers of different institutes, who might not otherwise have such multi-day periods of working side-by-side and talking in a relaxed context.

This will take place immediately before our 1-week autumn school in theoretical community ecology, also at INTP, which is an independent event that participants are welcome to apply to as well.
