We are organizing a writing retreat (for articles, theses, personal projects, fiction...) at INTP the end of this month, from Monday Oct 27 to Friday 31.
For participants who want it, we will propose a working agenda (writing sessions of 50 min with 10 min break), but it is not compulsory of course!

The 3rd INTP Autumn School “Syntheses in Theoretical Community Ecology” will take place from October 6 to 11, 2025 in Ariège, in the French Pyrenees. A 3- to 5-day retreat where participants (researchers or doctoral students) make progress on their own research, while sharing daily scientific discussion times, both indoors and during mountain walks.
Discussions will especially aim to address challenges and roadblocks in one's current work, brainstorm ways to overcome them, drawing on insights from a group of colleagues with a common background.

The residency consists of co-working sessions to progress on your research (writing, analysis, etc.) in the morning and physical activities (climbing, yoga, via ferrata, etc.) in the afternoon.

We will suggest a group schedule, based on the Pomodoro technique, which has helped many participants progress and stay motivated in prior work retreats at INTP (e.g. for thesis writing). You are free to opt out if you prefer a different experience.

This 3-day workshop in Microbial Community Ecology aims to bring together scientists (researchers, engineers...) working on microbial communities in diverse contexts, help create a common language with an overview of key ideas and tools spanning community ecology, and foster new collaborations and ways of approaching data, experiments or teaching this topic at the interconnection of many expertises.
