Mindful Research Retreat 2025

20/7 - 1/8/2025

Facilitator: Pavel Chvykov pchvykov@umich.edu

This is a meditation retreat. It's also a time you can be productive in your research. But most importantly, it's a time to intentionally lean deeper into the joy of doing the work we love, together with like-minded people, surrounded by beautiful mountains.

The core of this will be a guided exploration of how to make our research itself a deep and joyful meditation practice. We will combine focused mindfulness practices (like yoga, breathwork, meditations), with …

Microbial Community Ecology - 2025 Spring Workshop & School in the Pyrenees

27-30/4/2025

This 3-day workshop in Microbial Community Ecology aims to bring together scientists (researchers, engineers...) working on microbial communities in diverse contexts, help create a common language with an overview of key ideas and tools spanning community ecology, and foster new collaborations and ways of approaching data, experiments or teaching this topic at the interconnection of many expertises.

More information on the dedicated page.

Microbial Community Ecology - 2024 School

6-8/11/2024

This 3-day school in Microbial Community Ecology aimed to give an overview of the key concepts and tools from community ecology (from coexistence to complex networks), that can enrich the way we think about and study microbiomes, plan experiments and analyze data.

We happily hosted 11 students including 10 from several laboratories associated with the CLAPAS Key Initiative (University of Montpellier), see news here.

Residency - Arts and Science October

26/9 - 20/10/2024

This residency period, we have welcome INTP friend Juan Giral, as well as Mathilde Defourneaux, Maya Tsur and Toyo Vignal.

All of them are either PhD students or recently elevated to doctor (in Toyo's case, congratulations!), all have an artistic inclination, and as well as personal projects, we shared drawing sessions, discussions about how to teach science through art, and an upcoming thesis chapter-turned-comic book.

More on this soon!

Residency - Creating an animated music video

29-5/8/2024

Solène Pichereau (@sedeto), illustrator, graphic designer and singer, came to the INTP for a week in residence to create a traditionally animated clip for one of her songs.
