Hi, I’m Kirsten, nice to meet you. My main research interests are related to sustainability challenges, resource accessibility and the impact of development/conservation initiatives on coupled socio-ecological systems. I have a PhD in Environmental Sciences from the University of Guelph, which looked at how people interact with nature and ever since I have been intrigued by the complex world of socio-ecological interactions.

More recently I have become interested in grassy strips, hedgerows, flowering margins. I like the idea of feasible, effective and practical solutions to sustainability issues that can be elucidated from research. My ultimate aim is to liaise research with everyday life quandaries.
